Westin Peachtree Plaza, ATLANTA

Built: 1976
Height: 220m
Floors: 73

It was the tallest hotel building in the world when completed

I think it should deffinetly be one of the best from the 70s

1- John Hancock Center, Chicago.

2- Sears Tower, Chicago.

3- World Trade Center, New York.

4- Tour Montparnasse, Paris.

1970's were a fantastic decade for the big, black, massive buildings.

Best Australian building form the 1970's is the former BHP House

Architects: Yuncken Freeman Architects Pty Ltd
Designed in conjunction with engineers Irwin Johnson and Partners. The architects spent ten weeks at the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP in 1968 to seek assistance in developing the design.

Completed in 1972:

Timeless design:

Citibank is a good example of how a major engineering flaw could be salvaged. Chicago Hancock is a good example of how one single building can incorporate multiple land uses.

The 70s had some of the most iconic scrapers but to me it's

1) WTC
2) Sears Tower
3) Transamerica Pyramid
