Both Shanghai's old and new metro trains are fully walk through. That was one of the interesting things I noticed about the Shanghai metro when I visited that city. And they are air conditioned as well, thank goodness.

An excellent report about walk-through metros around the world including detailed statistics: http://www.thetransportpolitic.com/2...open-gangways/

The article points out that US systems usually still lack walk-through trains and that they should start to adopt them.

Am I missing something? Not all of Toronto's subway trains are walk-through. Only our new fleet from 2010 and onwards have this feature

ALL trains since the MF 88. That means L1, 2, 4, 5, 7bis, 9, 14. Some trains on the Transilien and RER C (Z 20900, but only between cars 2 and 3) too.

In fact, none (thats means Turin has to be removed from the list).
