While living up there would be my own personal hell, I like the skyline for such a small city. 7.5

I think the skyline is impressive, but it's too isolate and the weather condition is not good in there. Otherwise it will be a good place to visit !!

Nice collection of buildings for such an isolated, small place. Nice well-defined core, a bit of depth and although not much height, it is noticeable. Gotta go put some more coats on now after seeing those pics..... |

Yellowknife (IN SUMMER!)
Yes the snow does melt and the temperature does get into the teens and low twenties (in celcius) during the summer months. ![]() ![]() ![]()

i live in yellowknife, the main industries are government, tourism and diamonds, and 2 gold mines recently closed. a new 15 story apartment building overlooking great slave lake was completed last summer that isn't seen in any of those photos i don't think. a great place to live.

Amazing for 17,000. Heck, it's pretty impressive for 30,000. Now, if only I could get some of this response for Sydney. :P

Had to give it a 10. Its essentually an isolated outpost in Canada's North. It has 17,000 people, thus actually having a skyline is impressive. I don't think that there is another place as isolated or its size with a skyline to match it. Remember the closest major city by road is Edmonton and thats around 1000 miles or 1600 kms south of Yellowknife. So about Seattle to LA, in distance. However unlike the US westcoast where you have Many cities along the way there is essentually wilderness all the way with the largest centre being 250 miles or 400 kms north of Edmonton at 50,000 people.
