I used to live in a 52,000 pop. town, and our tallest was a 4 story apartment. I like this for the size.

Yellowknife is amazing! Does anyone know how much it is growing and what projects are going on around there or going to be? 9/10

The population is slowly but steadily getting closer to 20,000. The last highrise built was a 15 story apartment tower overlooking the lake, about 5 or 6 years ago. The latest major development was a 4 story Federal government office building downtown that looks great, sorry I can't find a picture of it right now. There have been less major construction projects this year than the past few, however there was a story in the paper a few weeks ago about a planned hotel and conference centre the Yellowknives Dene people want to build right on the shore of Great Slave Lake, but it's not known when construction will start.

I can't wait to visit Yellowknife one day. It looks like a interesting and unique town in an amazing part of the world. Would be nice to see a new tallest there.

A skyline does not have to be necessarily tall. Any building(s) that make a relief against the sky is considered a skyline. This includes moutains and trees etc.

I'm not really into this whole rating deal... I must ask - what's with all these high numbers. I see at least a half-dozen randomly placed stubbies. Not really pretty ones I might add (No offence to Yellowknife). Might as well remove those buildings. The skyline would improve, yes? Maybe I could hammer together a tool shed and take a photo as the sun sets. I could put it up against the likes of Hong Kong and New York. Probably get a similar rating.
