copying? "copy" is very strong word and can be disputed, the idea for Israeli artificial island was long before the dubai "boom", i think that project of the island was published in 1995

actually it doesn't matter when the Tel Aviv project was proposed, because artificial island isnt revolutionary idea to TEL Aviv neither to dubai, it gos centuries in the histrory, so claming that somebody copying from dubai is rather Stupid.
dubai have nothing revolutionary, UAE just copying pieces from the world and concentrating them i one spot that called "dubai"

Will it be connected to Tel Aviv by any bridges, or will it use something like a ferry?

Welcome to the club isreal. But this one doesnt really look that nice, it would of been better if it had a bit more of creativity. Im suprised to see a very positive response from the forumers towards israel reclaiming land, if it were dubai or doha or bahrain ppl would be what about the dolphins, stupid oil money, what a dumb idea.. blah blah !!

I was wondering what will the sole purpose of this project be ?? Tourist resort, residentail ?!?

Interesting project, a better idea than building settlements across their border. But im still not very impressed about this project.

I don't see why this can't work for Tel Aviv, though I would rather want to see it build up rather than out.

I'm sorry, but the Dutch have been reclaiming land for a couple of hundred of years. Better get your facts straight before you make such a comment.

In fact, most of the reclamation in Dubai at the moment, is done by Dutch corporations.

Chill man, dont get so defensive its not like you guys found a cure to AIDS. But you have to ask was it the dutch who were the first to come up with reclamied land in the shape of the palm tree ??

Complete BS !! Who are you kidding ?? What do you mean you like the way it looks. Have you acctually looked at it ?? Its not perfect, not even good. Its so obvious you guys are pro-israel. shh !! The project is not creative.. they could of at least made in the shape of the star of david or something.

Qatar4Ever, imo if it was of a shape of a star, it would look childish. What works for me in Dubai, like the palm and the world, these wouldnt look good in TA or at all in Israel. I cant really give real reasons for my feelings, i can only say that those artifical islands in Dubai, will look good with such extreme projects like the Dubailand and the Burj Dubai. TA is not this kind of city, so i think a much more conservative type of artificial island would be proper. Again, this is only how i see
