The Empire State, Chrysler, American International - they did the spire right.

The Freedom Tower.
Oh gosh! The Sears Tower is taller.

Thank you Pataki for naming WTC "Freedom", just to remind me that our freedom of building as tall as we want has been taken from us.

Whatever happens, we know that the "Fraud 'em" Tower should be replaced, A.S.A.P.

Pataki's such an idiot. He even said that it would be the tallest building in the world, something the New York really needs, and will get one day, again.

If the Fredom Tower is going to be ditched and replaced, it's going to happen now, this week or the next one, but things are not looking that way.

No it wont be Fordman spire in Chi-town is 1600ft to the roof then theirs a spire that goes up to 2000ft FT will be 1776ft to the top of the spire.

Ps. spires suck and shouldnts be counted not even the Empire. Sears still is the tallest in my mind, for the next year or two.

It isn't approved yet. Is it just me, or am I the only one who thinks that Fordham Spire is no more than Chicago's response to New York and the new World Trade Center? Look at the skyscraper history. Also, wasn't FS even a design for the WTC that was rejected?

The FS is a new design and it was proposed in 2005. It wasn't a response to the new world trade center.

Beautiful building. Now if we can get our old WTC back that would be nice.

I was wondering, was the streetlife any better before? Maybe it will take some time for the area to redevelop it's life.

They need to talk with Donald Trump because he had a good idea for rebuilding the World Trade Center. At least they should take the old blueprints, "modernize" them and rebuild the twin towers.

I disagree with some of you.

I think 7 WTC is just a new beautful yet simple glass tower. At first I was afraid of what the base might look like. But it has grown on me and I really like it now. Like someone else mention, what was there before at the original WTC area wasn't that friendly (infact it was worse) on the street level than what I see.

I dont see a problem with it. If they built it in my city I wouldnt be complaining. I only thing I dont like is the bottom of the building. It looks like its part of military base.

That's what we are talking about. Streetscape = the street environment & its alignment.

The tower itself is reasonable IMHO.

Unless you have been to New York and seen it your self theres not much you can say an image doesnt tell the whole story but it does look bad. It might be better in the flesh but I've never seen it because I never been New York(I kick my self for it probs gona go this summer or during October).

There goes 99% of views on the forum. (Un)Fortunately that's all we have to base our views ie the images. Also some knowledge and gut instinct.
