I travelled to the empty west of China to get you some pictures of the G30 and the G3012 in Xinjiang

The G3012 was a massive part with split carriageways; both carriageways running through separate gorges over some 60 kilometers. I understand that the distance between the two carriageways is 12 kilometers at its widest.

A lot of people in Xinjiang speak/write a form of turko-arabic language, so it makes sense to have it on the signs.

It's officially Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Uyghur people use Arabic script. It's same at all the Autonomous Regions of China. They use Chinese and local language with different script when necessary.

What I don't like is that when a regional script is used, latin script is forgotten. It makes difficult to someone that doesn't know any of the scripts (like me) to understand what they say.

According to my data, on G45 there are a couple of sections still missing: Inner Mongolia border-Chengde in Hebei (Shown U/C in Bing aerial) and Jiangxi border-Conghua in Guangdong. Bing aerial also shows another expressway, presumably G4515, U/C from near Chifeng towards Lingyuan.

This is part of G69. Due to the weird route of G65, which suddenly turns due East at Chongqing, G69 will parallel it to the East from Ankang (In Shaanxi province) and then cross it at Nanchuan.

Only a minimal number of people using the roads in Xinjiang do not understand either script. Us westerners travelling the roads of this area (typically in taxi's or buses) will miss some information, which you may not like. But I cannot conclude from this that the signage is actually not serving its purpose.

Nothing is unknown. Apparently this is part of G69, which will run West of G75 South of Guiyang due to the turn of the latter due East to run concurrent with G60.

Anyway, it seems I'm shooting the gun too early. I already switched to the new numbering .

Wow, it seems they have closed down the G4 from Langzhuo expy (Future G95) to Xinle (North of Shijiazhuang) for widening. This doesn't happen in any other country, even in the Netherelands they keep the road open when they widen anything. Luckily there is the G5 nearby.

Why was this thread's title changed? I don't like the new title. It should be,

If it has a number, it is the G4215. But we know, renumbering hasn't taken place yet. But I agree, little is known due to the expressway location in Northwestern Guizhou.

Guizhou expressways appear to be more obscure.
