Do you have any idea how long the current rate of expressway construction wil continue? What the total length of the national expressway system wil be when completed?

New U/C finds in the Northwest, thanks to Google:
G3011 Liuge expressway from Liuyuan South of Guazhou (a.k.a. Anxi) to Dunhuang, following former G313. This is consistent with the Wikipedia map, which linked it to G30 in Guazhou. Since it won't start at Liuyuan anymore, I suggest renaming it to 瓜格高速 Guage expressway.
And the great prize: G7 Jingxin expressway in Xinjiang!!! The 60 westermost kilometers of the trek through the middle of nowhere are now shown U/C, as well as the autobahnkreuz with G30 that will serve as temporary Western terminus until the new route along S303 is completed. As a side note, the Lianhuo used to be below expressway standards East of Hami, but now appears to be a full-fledged one.

Dali--Lijiang Expressway is scheduled to be open to traffic on Dec 30 after four years’ construction.

After the construction completion, drivers shall pay tolls in following 30 years which are higher than toll fees paid on Kunming--Dali Expressway, said the road construction directorate.

The expressway is 257 kilometers long. Length of tunnels on the expressway covers nearly 30 percent of its total length. Some tunnels, such as Shuanglong Tunnel, are more than 3,000 meters long. And Baiyu Bridge is the highest bridge connecting the two tourist destinations.

Riding on the road is quite comfortable for both drivers and travelers since vertical height within every 100 meters is lower than 3 meters.

In chilly winter, some sections of the road may be icy, such as the 6-kilometer-long section from Wase to Shuanglang. It is not only a long and steep downgrade section, but also is designed with a viewing deck of Er’hai Lake nearby. Some tourists may park cars beside the road and cross the expressway to view the scenery of the lake on the deck.

As trucks may spay water when running down the slope, the road is likely to be icy when weather temperature drops. Drivers and travelers should pay attention to this section to keep safety and security.

The speed limit for most vehicles is below 100 Km/hr, and for some trucks is below 80 Km/hr.

The Changhe Expressway opened to traffic a few days ago. It's an extension of Jiangsu province S38 from Lishui to G5011 at Chaohu. The Anhui segment is numbered S24 according to Chinese Wikipedia.

Various names for this expressway are reported. Changhe Expressway makes the most sense, as a connection from Changshu to Hefei. Another name I've read is Lima Expressway (Lishui - Ma'anshan), but this name doesn't make sense for the expressway segment west of Ma'anshan. It could be the name for the Jiangsu extension segment.

The new expressway includes the 11 kilometer long Ma'anshan Bridge across the Yangtze River. This is a very large bridge, with two main features, a double-span 2 x 1.080 meter suspension bridge across the main channel (similar to Taizhou Bridge) and a triple span cable-stayed bridge, the first in China.

main channel bridge

secondary channel bridge (render)

I haven't seen any good recent photos.

I have heard yet another name for this expressway: G42S Huwu expressway. From Chaohu it will continue to Lujiang (G3 and G4212, and G3W shortly thereafter), then to Yuexi (G35) and finally to Hubei border, where G42S will take over S5. Fun fact about G42S: Here S means South, but for the first few kilometers it runs North of G42, which crosses East of Changzhou.

A "G" number would be appropriate for such a long interprovincial expressway.

I would have posted "A ton of expressways opened today in China" . There are a couple openings missing from the map: S91 in Hunan, S3 and Meizhou-Fujian border in Guangdong, and G42S in Jiangsu and Anhui.

It was believed G72 was going to go where G1517 runs, South of this new alignement. By the way, now the Quannan is complete.

The section North of Changde is missing too. It strickes me...

The segment north of Changde is well visible on Google Earth imagery (dated 2012), as well as G55 east of Changde.

Congratulations China!!!...
We opened 80km now in December in RO, they opened above 900!
If China motorway standards will be near EU standards, i think that this 900km will be reduced at 200-300km...or maybe i'm wrong?
Hope that i'm not offtopic...if yes, sorry!

It is said by the name: G7611 will run from Duyun (labelled as Qiannan in Google Maps) to the Shangri-La (labelled as Deqen in Google Maps). The westernmost section will go through really mountainous terrain.

Yup, Jiangxi section is already in Google Maps. ForteTwo once asked about this expressway, so it is numbered S42.

No, it's definitely at or above EU standards, and has been for more than 10 years now, almost no new substandard road infrastructure being built.

For construction or for the total coverage? Or did you mean quality? Western part of EU is already densely covered with motorways and in some countries been that way for decades. There are some serious gaps in the East hence Poland has more motorways under construction than any other country in EU at the moment.
