Guizhou

A new expressway will open to traffic in Guizhou province on 29 September. It is called both the Bizhen Expressway (on Baidu Maps) and Zhenbi Expressway (on Baike), meaning Bijie - Zhenxiong or vice versa. It runs from Bijie to the Yunnan border near Zhenxiong. It is 37 kilometers long, runs 60% on bridges or tunnels and was built in 2.5 years. It contains a 3.3 kilometer long tunnel. Almost nothing of the expressway is visible in Google Earth, but I found these photos:

Sichuan

The Xingkang Bridge, also known as the Daduhe Bridge Xingkang is a 1100 meter span suspension bridge on the Ya'an - Kangding Expressway in Sichuan province. It is one of the most difficult expressways ever built in China, it runs 82% on bridges or in tunnels, though the western part in the mountains is close to 100% on bridges and tunnels.

The bridge is built across a reservoir at approximately 1500 meters above sea level. Only 15 kilometers from the bridge is a 6000 meter high mountain (Lamo-She), which gives an idea of the extreme terrain.

It is planned to be completed in 2018.

It's part of G4218, Ya'an-Kargilik expressway. I don't think it will be built to full expressway standards through Tibet, though. But there is already an expressway-like road from Lhasa East to Nyingchi.

Guizhou

The last bridge deck segment of the Wujiang Bridge near Nanmudu was completed yesterday. It is part of the new Guiyang - Zunyi Expressway in central Guizhou. This new six lane expressway will run parallel to G75 between the two largest cities in Guizhou province.

The bridge has 200 meter high deck and a 320 meter main span. There are two pylons of 197 and 143 meters high.

G4218 Yaye Expressway

That's this section:

The opening is referred to as a 'trial opening', which is quite common in China. They note that trucks cannot use the expressway yet, and that some tunnels are not completed but will open to traffic by the end of the year.

The construction cost amounted to 38 billion yuan (€ 4.9 billion). It reduces the travel time by 3 hours.

http://www.gov.cn/xinwen/2017-09/30/content_5228766.htm
However I think that in reality a 206 kilometer section opened to traffic today.

A 150 kilometer section of expressway around Gongbo'gyamda / Nyingchi opened to traffic on 9 September 2015. Google Earth imagery from late 2015 shows it completed and traffic on it.

Google Earth imagery also shows traffic on the 53 kilometer western portion from Maizhokunggar to Lhasa. I think it opened sometime 2016.

That leaves the 206 kilometer middle section from Gongbo'gyamda to Maizhokunggar. Google Earth imagery from late 2015 shows portions of this route under construction (in particular in the area around the Milashan Tunnel) but not all was under construction in the gorges between the Milashan Tunnel and Gongbo'gyamda. I'm not sure if they completed that stretch in under 2 years.

G76 Xiarong Expressway

The highest bridge along the last link of the Xiarong G76 expressway, the herculean Houzihe River bridge is a prestressed beam bridge with a bulky main span of 722 feet (220 mtrs) that sits atop two piers of 443 feet (135 mtrs) tall.

In Europe, a bridge like this would be gracing the front covers of glossy engineering journals. Here in Western China, the structure is just another big bridge that will soon be doing its job of getting people from point A to point B.

Guiyang

Unusual interchanges in Guiyang. These are located near each other, and are part of a recently completed urban expressway on the west side of the city center.

A spiral tunnel is under construction west of Linxia, Gansu. It is near the Qinghai border, part of an east-west expressway between Xunhua and Linxia. It is called the Wolonggou 1 Tunnel (卧龙沟一号隧道). It is located at approximately 3000 meters altitude.

New sea tunnel to link Shenzhen with nearby city
A sea tunnel linking south China's Shenzhen and Zhongshan will be completed by 2024, the Guangdong provincial transportation group said Wednesday.
The construction is expected to get underway by the end of 2017. The main body of the project will include a 6.8-kilometer eight-lane tunnel, according to the project's general engineer, Song Shenyou.
Earlier reports have said that the 46 billion yuan (6.6 billion U.S. dollars) project will include the world's widest underwater road tunnel, two suspension bridges and two artificial islands.
The building of the artificial islands has already begun.
The new link between Shenzhen and Zhongshan in the Pearl River Delta will be 24 kilometers long.
Currently, the Humen Bridge is the only connection between the two sides of the delta.

Second Xinjiang Tibet Road 新藏公路二线 (G216 Extension)

I just came across this road in the planning stages. The road is called Xinjiang Tibet Second Line 新藏公路二线. It uses the G216 numbers. This road running from Minfeng aka Niyazhen, Xinjiang to Gaizezhen, Ngari, Tibet.

I can't find any detailed maps on this. The only known point is Heishibei Lake 黑石北湖.

If anybody know more about this road, please let me know.

Wow, G216 will run through really remote areas. There's literally nothing between Niya in Xinjiang Uyghur and Gerze/Gaize in Tibet, with North Heishi lake (or more exactly just North of it) being where G216 will cross the border between the two provinces "autonomous" regions. G216 currently ends at Baluntai in Xinjiang Uyghur (G218 junction).

And while I'm at it, here's a list of all (existing and planned) Chinese National Highways (those with Gxxx numbers). Note that all extensions and numbers above (and including) G228, G331 and all G5xx were included in 2013 and may not be fully signed yet (or even built!).
