Do people have to wear towels on thier heads to stay there? (like how some stuffy places require a blazer and tie)

God.

Metcalf, I would say the majority of these projects will in full operation by 2010. As you know there is at least one dozen projects in dubai that are very remarkable and probably cost over $ 1 billion. There are the ones to moniter. Many are probably are in the first or second phase of construction.

For more detail you can visit the dubai sub-forum.

but prepare your timetable, if you want to see all projects in dubai you might need at least 5 hours to get an idea.

Why did so many people get offended by the 6-star hotel thingy *Surprised*

Just consider it as a different standard for hotels made by Dubai !

And OMG Jasonhouse OMG ! I didn't know that you are such an ******* !

I can see how this could be an innocent harmless question (maybe a little dumb though) but the way you have worded it is shocking and disgraceful! Towel really isn't the right word to use!

There is Las Vegas feel too it. But if they use ancient very detailed arabic Baghdadian wall details on it, can be suberb. Ofcourse if they can find that incredibly skillfully artizans, maybe from Syria or Iraq( Most probably they became extinct long ago). It can bring ancient arabic grandeur to it . Otherwise it can stay as classy Las Vegas style hotel. I think Dubai needs smth that is authentically Nothern Arabic or Moroccan style.
