Foster wins deal for a vertical city

MOSCOW’s mayor has endorsed plans to build a tower, 600 metres high, designed by the British architect Lord Foster of Thames Bank. It is expected to be the tallest in Europe when it is completed in 2010.

Would it be better if it has a mass transit system there?

there was a Plan for a subway under the Global City that will connect the Airport and the MRT Line 3 in Makati CBD, i don't know the status right now, but i think it will push thru once the Global City developed. There are also lots of Buses and jeepneys that plies through Global City. At the moment any Rail connection is not feasible, maybe in 5 to 10 years time.

I was surprised to learn that there were Filipino soldiers who were buried in these grounds as well...

Cha, Yup no more rotunda as seen on the revised FBGC masterplan I posted above. It will be replaced by a linear park (stretching from Serendra's Piazza to the Forbestown commercial area) that will be surrounded by commercial establishments. If plans push through, this commercial area will be patterned after Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive daw. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
