Nice one preston_guy. Every week I do numerous searches on Tithebarn looking for updates. I found a recent one (written in July) saying that there was going to be a tramway linking the development to the train station. I wouldnt cross your fingers on that one though...
BTW, Prestonian, if you are around can you make a quick post just to let us know your still here. You havnt posted in aaaaaaaaaaaages... and well, I'm getting quite worried. |

hehe, i am still around, tho i don't have much time to post, i usually just browse. I like reading the updates tho guys, I should probably say thank you more often. I've been living up in Durham through summer so have been out of touch with the Preston scene a bit. I'll be home next week and may even have a digital camera so I might jus treat ya
![]() Expect me to post a lot more when the new tithebarn stuff gets posted, that should spur me on a bit to post, i've been feeling a little fatigued with it all recently, i want something to start construction. |

Good to know your still with us
![]() Should hopefully be very soon with Tithebarn. A bit of new construction that can be followed on now is the reclad of the Holiday Inn which seems to be motoring ahead now. I also want to know what is going on at that Docks site, its driving me mad!!! |

Nice to see the uni backing the project! (or at least it seems that way lol) Cheers for the info.
Here is an absolutely terrible picture of that site on the docks for anyone who doesnt know what I'm talking about. I literally snapped it passing by. ![]() The site doesnt look very big in the pic, but its actually surprisingly large. The drilling machine is now gone, and there is still a total lack of information on the hoardings... Could be something interesting, but it could be just a new curb or something. I love surprises usually, but I despise this one! |

Does seem a bit odd accura, wot the hell are they doing? I think I remember seeing something in planning applications for a bit of a reclad on the store itself, but dunno about this car park business. Maybe they're making changes to the layout of the car park? God knows lol
Anyhoo I'm pleased with the planned regeneration of Friargate and I hope things get moving soon. Also, the reclad of the Holiday Inn should be interesting. Do you know if it's just for the sides (like the building next to it) or the whole thing? Being on the edge of Tithebarn, I think the whole thing should be spruced up. As for Tithebarn itself, I've given up lol |

I thought the same thing about the Holiday Inn, but they have platforms on the front and back of the building, so unless they are just doing the windows, its safe to assume they are redoing the whole thing. Either way, its gonna look a lot better when finished

Don't get too excited about the Homebase car park project you guys.
It's only going to be a new retail unit selling furniture. "CLS" I think. |

Thanks for the info anyway. Beats car park alterations. Kinda goes against the Riverworks masterplan though... |

Coincidentally, Preston City Council's website has been updated on the Riverworks Project. Some pdf's are on there, perhaps they're old but I've not seen them before! lol the canal extension sounds interesting

They've been there since the page was set up lol
They're pretty difficult to spot though I guess, being right in the bottom corner of the page.

Yeh, we sometimes get these quiet periods in terms of news, but things usually pick up again with something or other after a few weeks. I'm hoping our next big news will be a certain something beginning with T

The planning applications for the offices in the final stage of West Strand are in this weeks batch. Looks like its just gonna be three 3-storey office blocks, probably like the one thats just been built there. An unexciting end to an unexciting project.

Yeah, considering the historical and locational importance of the West Strand area it could have been a bit more exciting. But it's good to see it finally being used after being wasteland for so long

There was a piece in tonights LEP saying that Canterbury Hall at the junction of Garstang Rd, North Rd, St Georges Rd and Moor Lane is to be demolished to make way for a 4-storey U-shaped building of apartments and office accomodation. Sounds pretty interesting
![]() Some construction updates from yesterday: Moor Lane ![]() ![]() I'm very impressed with how this has turned out... ![]() And this...
