Whats missing from your forum?

A thread to tell the Administrative chaps of SSC whats missing from your neck of the woods.

So I'll start - the Glasgow Forum has taken a big hit thread wise - there should be 113 threads, but there are only 35.

Seems that all the important threads have been taken from us - our Blessed Glasgow Photos Thread has been removed

Is there anyway to recover any of these threads? We Glasweigians worked so hard on those things... so much effort surely not just thrown down the pan, I hope...

Don't worry guys, everything is backed-up on a 2nd server and should be restored in the next week or two.

Can we have an Olympic one just on it's own.

We can have transport, stadia construction and general news threads within it.

Gothicform said we could.

Please.

An entire section for the Olympics would be rather O.T.T. in my opinion. I'm glad we won the bid and everything but I think an entire subforum just for the Olympics is going a bit overboard. We should just use the existing cultural/sporting venues subforum for any Olympics-related threads. The front page of the UK and Ireland forum is already rather crowded, what with 3 subforums for the UPC, and 2 more regional subforums (Leeds and Glasgow).

Gothic said there would be one put on soon and I think it would be a good idea particularly as we draw nearer to 2012.

I disagree.

Having an Olympics forum, would be a good central point for people from overseas to go to see how we are getting on, especially in three years times when the Beijing games is on and everyone from around the world starts talking about London and asking the question how are we getting on with building the stadiums etc.

For example, they would would go to the sports page see the Olympic Stadium, Veladrome or swimming pools etc but miss the Olympic village because it is in a different section or the transport links for the same reason.

I would be happy to help run it, see my latest post on the Olympics today.

Go on Will, please.

It might be good if it were to be used. We should scrap the current projects forum, create a London Metro Forum and an 'Other Regional Cities' forum.
All the Olympic stuff could just go in the London forum. London must be the largest city on SSC not to have its own subforum.

Actually, now I think about it, now would be a really good time to make a London forum. Because of the hacking, there are less threads to move!

Sorry - but on a completely different note:

Did the hacker change the way the number of views for each thread is counted?

It seems that once you have visited the thread, it doesnt count if you visit again, thus only counting new people who have visited it.

I dont like it.

Im a right, or am i talking rubbish?

And I know you guys have lives and jobs and all, but when are the deleted threads going to be restored??

The forum always used to only count one visit, unless a new post had been made since your last visit.
