Why not try some gray clad, Leeds is really short of it.

the concrete will give the building mass and help absorb the loud music

Arent the traingular shapes that make the cladding suppose to change colour at night though ?

I think the end product will look fine... a lot better then leaving at as concrete blocks anyway.

yeah that does sound good. but i still think the carnegie is awful, just what leafy headingley needed, a massive green spaceship! bribery must go a long way in leeds council planning department.

Funnily enough I met a friend in Headingley yesterday and had a coffee in a cafe, and on my way home, I passed Headingley Stadium and thought the new stand looked okay.. not sure why so many people dislike it, it's a bit imposing but the cladding is okay.

I quite like the new stand at Carnegie- at least the outside. Would be nice if it could wrap round the entire stadium though.

I don't think the arena will look like that though. I'm expecting it to look totally different.

Yes, I'm sure they will be, as they are concrete. The scaff safety rails won't be though.

That vomitory style is typical of most arena balconies as it maximises the seating.

If you meant the roof level catwalks, then yes they are likely to be permanent as well, although not for public use of course.

There was a model in the visitors centre- some of the triangular panels are translucent and backlit.
