the Pearls of Umhlanga project consists of 6 buildings

1) Pearl Reef - 13F - completion Dec 2005
2) Pearl Tides (North and South buildings) - both 4F - completion Dec 2006 and June 2007
3) Pearl Breeze - 25F - completion Mar 2007
4) Pearl Dawn - 31F - completion Dec 2007
5) Pearl Sky - 43F - completion Dec 2008

The other component is Pearl Walk, a high end retail dev that will interface with the existing Umhlanga high street.

the pearls beauties are now u/c for the shorter 2 (the 25F and 31F ones )

New towers announced:

The Marriot Hotel - 22F
Readman Place - 23F
Chartwell - 26F (redevelopment to 29F) with massive retail component

i remember doing the charwell redevelomnet scheme ( or a version of it) in 1997, seesm climate is right now for a big refurb.

Moyeni also tends to be forgotten by us durbanites, mianly cos it is tucked away behin other buildings and doesnt have the design power of San Raphael or the Pearls.

this one was launched a few months back, its a $250m dev that incorporates a 5 star Marriott Hotel, apartments, recording studios, gucci, cartier and louis vuitton stores and views across the entire Durban Bay. work starts in March 2006

estimated at 24F plus that spire and dome.
