#Completed: Queens Plaza - Stage 2

I haven't seen any threads on this anywhere and i think the original Queens Plaza thread has been archived so ill start something about the stage that everyone has forgotten about.

There is a MASSIVE hammerhead crane now erected inside the old David Jones. I was standing on Adelaide St and the jib dissapeared behind the MBF building when it crossed the street.

Also, hoarding is being erected on Adelaide St and the old awning is in the process of been pulled down.

I saw theyd boarded off the old store when i went down Adelaide st last week..

How long was this part supposed ot take? (I know its in the old QP thread but im not going looking lol)

So Maroon there's a hammerhead INSIDE David Jones and it crossed the street, lol??

Stage 2 is just a refurishment of the old David Jones isn't it? Into more space for David Jones or different retailers?

Yeah - I can also confirm the crane (if you didn't believe marron and rum already?? hehe). I looked out of my building and had to do a double take lol!

Stage 2 will be David Jones and around 20 more stores. The old DJ's shop front will be little stores such as FCUK etc...

i dont think the crane can do a full revolution coz it might hit some buildings. dont quote me on that though.

When is this supposed to be completed?
Went for a walk past there yesterday and its not revealing much?
Maybe all the work has been done internally.
In regards to FCUK, it was supposed to go into the first stage of Queens Plaza but I heard that there was a dispute over leasing and the amount so they postponed it and come to agreement to open up in stage 2.

i have no idea when its due. there are no signs or advertising giving anything away. if history tells a story, watpac wont finish this part for three years

Originally I thought completion was Spring 2006? Coles will be returning down near the Food Hall. If you go the Queens Plaza website you can see how Coles will be on the old basement level of DJ's - where 'Chatters' cafe use to be.

Another version of the Floorplan can be found off the Gandel site.
