The poor old HCT threads all seem to have bit the dust, dunno if they're coming back or not.....anyway it's very near completion so here's a quick history lesson

Thanks for those Smiley.I didn't realise they started the cladding when it was only a few floors up.Great addition to the area.....now it needs another one!

I think it'd be great if there were four of them - one about where Nostalgia and Comics are, on the corner of Hill St and Smallbrook Queensway, one where the current frontage of the Alex is, and another where that horrible windowless thing is on Hill St - and all different colours - you could have red, blue and gold or something - and different heights - a bit bigger on the Hill St/Smallbrook junction, the other two smaller. Then a nice square in the middle. It'd compliment the new New St as well. Ah, who said drugs don't work???

It looks pretty accurate to me, give or take a few metres. That angle will tend to make the tower look taller because the perspective makes Centre City look shorter.
If you compare the size of the tower to the pagoda in the foreground you'll see that it's all relative.

Thanks for the render Dee, it shows how nice the tower will look when the centre lift shaft has been removed - makes some difference.

Internal work and I presume they still need the external lift to get materials to the higher floors so I guess that bit of cladding down the middle will be the last to be completed
