Winnipeg.

I did some wondering around this weekend....This is what i did:

“Welcome to Winnipeg” say bare breasted statue woman.

Le Quartier Français…..St Boniface old City Hall

Provencher…This strip is starting to turn into a hip little drag with new cafés and condos and other services

New Condos on the rise

The Boulevard’s gateway

Corporate advertising doesn’t get better then this. Wow, how absolutely ugly does this look now

Canwest Global Park

Waiting for the Goldeyes game to start up

A view from Canwest Global Park

Onto Portage & Main

This must be a new thing in town…

My favourite building

Main Street

now we wonder into the Exchange District, check out the Fringe Festival

A little mix of Architecture and Fringe

Winnipeg’s Fringe outsold the Edmonton Fringe last year for the first time, making it the biggest Fringe on the continent

new Lofts in Kelly Building (middle)

This guy can do some amazing card tricks, he definitely worked his tip he got from me.

Best looking street in Winnipeg by far

Back onto Main Street

Back to old market Square for some nice late night fun

Downtown wandering…West down Portage Ave.

The MTS Centre

Downtown

CBD Skyline

The Hotel Fort Garry

Scotia Bank Festival Stage & Esplanade Riel

St. Boniface

Waterfront Drive

And that’s it. Bye.

Reminds you of Seattle? It's the greenery (lots of trees) on the streets. That's a character of many cities in the commonwealth (guess the Brits love trees). Seattle is in the Northwest and therefore with the high rain volume, it is naturally very green too. Can't say that for most other American cities though.

Washington, Portland, New Orleans, Palm Beach? Vancouver (not so Canadian)?

Oh and I noticed you're in Johor Bahru...I'm doing the Singapore / Johor Bahru trip this summer, very excited.

Approximately 11% of the population speak both english and french. Probably a very small percentage speak only french on top of that
