Yeah, I agree. While New York has no reason to have an inferiority complex to anyone, he sure seems to have one to Chicago. For whatever reason he feels the need for New York to have the tallest building. But I don't see the fact that Chicago is building the Fordham Spire as a way to slap New York in the face. Also, the Freedom Tower is plenty a memorial to the victims of 9/11, and I feel the architects were "thinking outside the box" more when they made the tower 1,776 feet rather than going for 3,000 feet as our friend suggested. Just because 9/11 occurred doesn't give New York any entitlement to having the tallest building. If they want it, elt them build it. They have the means. But Chicago also has the means, and if they're gonna build it, let them build it.

For a new tallest, it doesn't seem have to best design, and I am starting to think that Calatrava isn't that realistic when it comes to building skyscrapers.
