The building is very elegant, tall, slender, with sensous curves, almost organic like, however, I don't like the fact that its design is a cliche and copied as victhor put it.

Whatever the case, it is still a great building in its own right, and I do hope seeing get built.

Wow. Any building taller than the Sears to roof deserves respect. This building goes one better and actually looks unbelievable! Hopefully this goes through

STR, it would be a hard work to put this one on cardboard, don't you think? Maybe 115 floor plans stocked.

I like the design of that tower. Perhaps it isn't so original but, for me, what mather is if it adds a new quality design to Chicago's skyline.

I hope to see not renders but real photos with that new building in four o five years

Looks great , not liking the massive spire though.. would prefer the spire to be a lot shorter and a little skinnier..

$500M pricetag for a 115 storey twister sounds BS to me.

No, I think this is just what the LMDC needs: a kick in the tuckus for giving us such cruddy designs.

Never say never. Isn't that what everyone said about Burj Dubai?
Anyway, I sure hope it doesn't get the axe as it's a great proposal.

In the end, it's Chicagoans that would reserve the last judgement of this tower and from what i hear from most Chicagoans, it's a THUMBS UP.

I don't know what's so monotonous about the tower. If this is monotonous, then aren't all towers monotonous since they all manifest the same box shape?

Lovely building, even though it will pass the Sears Tower in height, Calatrava made a great decision in keeping it slim and not as dominant in mass compared to the Sears Tower. I like the slimness and the curve upwards making your eyes rise to see the spire at the top. You know, it's 2000 ft. but it looks very gentle, friendly in a way. It's like a modern sculpture.

I'm talking about the price tag. By American standarts, $500m is way to cheap for a building of such height and (especially) design.

A boxy 300m tower in NY was suposed to cost 1 billion (I think it was The NY Times building)

^ So do you think that by Chicago standarts $500M is right? Remember it is not the usual easy to build boxy design.
