I love it. Chicago is slated to be the greatest skyline in the Americas.

Something tells me that if this towers get build will probably will be finished before the Freedom Tower. If we judge the history of the FT long series of scandals and problems that might be a possibility.

What sucks is that even if they wanted to compete with Burj Dubai for the tallest in the world, they couldn't, the FAA allows for only 2000 ft at the maximum height limit in the US.

20m ones? Ok buddy. Everything in Dubai has a huge spire. Emirates office towers, burj al arab, Chelsea, etc.

Every city is the same except Chicago when it comes to spires. Sears, Hancock, Aon, 3 1,000 footers w/out spires.

It's very narrow though... only 920,000 square feet gross. By comparison, the Sears Tower is over 4,000,000 square feet.

Trump Tower, which is 92 stories, has a price tag of ~$750m, but it has much larger floor plates.

Why? There's already one 100 story condo building in Chicago (the Hancock Center is primarily residential, with the highest apartments on the 93rd floor, I believe).

Actually it'll be a bit taller than Sears even without the spire. (Sears is 1,450 feet to the roof, this will be 1,458).

So, What is the exact location?

Behind The Sheraton Hotel or next to the Expressway?

Yea the spires of the proposed "pinnacle" are about 460 feet each, the same as this one. this building is 1460 feet w/o the spire, isn't it tall enough for some appreciation.

hopefully the new tower is the final design, one, something just needs to go there now, and 2, it's perfect.

In years to come it'ss be a tie between NY and Chicago, they will probably be better than most of the world once again.
