According to the schedule of US7 & SWFC, they are both being completed in 2007. If US7 is top out the roof faster than SWFC, will it be recognized the tallest building before SWFC?
By the way, how/who can decide which building is the tallest if both towers are being finished at the same period and two towers with same height?
(For example: When one tower reached to the top (highest top) is faster than another one, that tower will be the tallest, although inside contractions and façade etc of the tower is still in progress )!
Anyone know that…..?

once again, neither of them will be the world's tallest . . . EVER. . . Taipei 101 is still taller than both, by a good 50 feet or so

He said 50 feet. 16metres is roughly 50feet so he was correct.

After US7, will there be US8, US9 etc? Maybe not super tall buildings, but just about 300m in height. Rent is expensive in HK and they need more commercial buildings to increase the area.

I dont think so, but if they start to construct the West Kowloon Culture District there will be some new ~200-300m buildings next to the Union Square complex.

To add to Anekdote's reply, there will also be the West Kowloon KCR station development beside Union Square. Even though it is not part of Union square, but I can forsee a few 40-50 storey-ers being built.(around height of Waterfront.) Of course, if the government permits higher buildings which can even be higher than those 200-300m buildings in WKCD (West Kowloon Cutural Development) there will be a chance that buildings around the height of The Arch may be built. That district is just too tall to be true.

The new plan is 1.81 ratio will be strictly enforced for WKCD. So i am guessing there would be very few tall building or even none.

Well judging that it's a cultural district I'd say it's a good thing. Besides if they build n e more buildings rite in front of Harborside or The Arch it might seem too crowded... over to the eastern end of the WKCD plot is a different story tho... some tall ones there might visually connect it to the rest of Kowloon...
