"World-Class Architecture, World-Class Harbour"
Sun Hung Kai Properties Unveils "Harbour Living Gallery"
Presenting A Brand New Harbour Living Concept

4 August 2005

Hong Kong people are proud of the world-renowned Victoria Harbour's scenery, featuring world-class architecture along the coastline which further illuminates the harbour. To enhance this exclusive harbour environment, projects on both sides of the harbour were strategically built by Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) to provide residents with the best living standard.

To highlight these flawless buildings and the commitment to perfect living, a "Harbour Living Gallery" has been set up at One ifc titled "World-Class Architecture, World-Class Harbour". Today's opening ceremony was officiated by Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Senior Project Manager Tim Mak, Marketing Director Edgar Yang and Executive Director Eric Chow.

The gallery comprises two parts - "World-Class Harbour Buildings" and "World-Class Living". Five landmark projects will be glimmering beside Victoria Harbour, each with attractive views of the splendid harbour. The five projects include Harbour Gateway, which consists of ifc and Mega Tower, and 3 residential projects - The Arch, Harbour Green and Manhattan Hill.

The ifc has become a focal point of Hong Kong's world class financial expertise. The elegantly streamlined project is made up of the internationally renowned commercial building and a large-scale shopping complex. Two ifc, an 88-storey building, is one of the tallest in Hong Kong. Located in Kowloon Station, Mega Tower will be one of the three tallest buildings in the world and it will undoubtedly become another landmark for Hong Kong.

Of the residential developments, The Arch - with its unique and distinctive architectural design and the Sky Club equipped with a pool 500 ft. above sea level - demonstrates a bold yet tasteful statement of "World-Class Architecture". In close proximity, the Harbour Green is a pioneer of "CEO Living" - a new living concept overlooking Victoria Harbour. Manhattan Hill, a blend of contemporary "Manhattan" attitude with glittering harbour views, is another sparkling project that creates an energetic cosmopolitan lifestyle.

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Marketing Director Edgar Yang said: "With the natural harbour and a selection of world-class architecture, Victoria Harbour is the most popular scenic attraction in Hong Kong. The resplendent night view of the harbour truly reflects the character of Hong Kong elites - energetic, trend-setting, worldly and full of know-how."

Edgar pointed out that SHKP has strategically introduced the unique "Harbour Living Concept" into the "Harbour Projects" to provide a high quality living style. This includes offering the greatest brands from all areas for the sake of satisfying the residents' desire for world-class living.

The gallery is located at 1/F, One ifc, and is open to the public from 5 Aug until 22 Aug, between 10 am and 9 pm.

OMG.....how disullusioned can you get!! It is one of the tackiest buildings in HK and it is unfortunate that it is on such a large scale. I just love the 70 stories of shit brown tiles (could they have chosen a duller and more gross colour if they'd tried??) that look like they should be adorning some down market residential in Sham Shui Po rather than gracing a prime waterfront skyscraper containing some of the most expensive apartments in the world! Compare it to the neighbouring Harbourside which is a zillion times better architecturally. In fact Harbourside, US6 and US7 are the only decent buildings at Union Square, the rest are tacky HK at its worst.

Definitely not the most appealing looking building. It is something different just to be different. It didn't work.

So now apparently from that article, the name of US7 will most likely be "MEGA TOWER"

I have a question for those who live in HK, Is this project considered as one of the most expensive property in HK?, even pricier than The Promenade??

That depends on which building you're talking about. The Arch is considered one of Hong Kong's hottest luxury properties. Aside from the shady penthouse sale for an exorbitant amount, unit area prices are still among Hong Kong's highest.

The Harbourside and the Sorrento are also up there, but a bit lower than the Arch. The Waterfront is also expensive, but not too outrageous.

west kowloon was never considered a well off area in kowloon until they built the tung chung line where quite a few middle class residential lies on top of those stations kowloon station is considered to be the most expensive of this area ... comparable to even the more expensive estates on the island side ...
