It's true that London has a massive bottleneck of approved towers waiting to go up. However, this particular tower is being built speculatively, without a prelet, and the site has already been demolished/cleared. It should start within a few months.

I really doubt that 'tower list' need include proposals that are a mere 40m..

The tower didn't appeal me that much. It's a boring tower.
The only nice feature on it are the X-braces.

I think maybe the City actually needs a slightly "boring" tower like this, to balance out the wackiness and extravagance of the other towers (Leadenhall, Minerva, Lime Street, etc.) which are all going to be highly unique and competing for attention on the skyline.

I wouldn't exactly call Lime Street 'wacky.' True it isn't a box, but it isn't a 125m steel chicken painted green. Now that would be wacky.

I like it. I do think there are a lot of Green Chickens being planned. Better than nothing though...

I don't really like the groundscraper bit to be honest.

No... that's part of the scheme. The low-rise building is called 201 Bishopsgate, the tall one is Broadgate Tower.

I love it. Nice to see London moving up rather than side ways.
