Don't know if this one will be starting anytime soon. The two storey building there now has almost finished a refurb with office space upstairs and retail/restaurant down. Wht would they refurbish a building if they plan to knock it over soon?

I think that building remains. In the DA documents they have that building on the corner of Boundary, Adelaide, and Diddams Lane will remain, as it has a restaurant etc downstairs. The new building will be beside it.

I'm not talking about the e'cco building. This is for further down Adelaide St...accross from the Macrossan site. The building just refurbished is the old sexual health clinic building which is the site for this development isn't it? As i said before, I wouldn't imagine any owner would redevelop a building then tear it down soon to put up a high rise. Surely they would wait 3 to 5 years if for no other reason than to give prospective tennants a degree of security.

I think you're thinking of the wrong site.

This area is going to look awesome with this skinny as hell tower, the proposed even skinnier tower of 549 Queen street, the Macrossan Skyline and the rumoured 480 Queen!!, This is going to be one big construction site in 2 years time!!

Does anyone know when this is due to start construction? It's been quiet for a little while.

They should retain the facade... Is it historical? cause it sure looks like it.

This site is opposite the Macrossan Apartments building. The various buildings on the site where fully refurbished and long term leases signed up. Construction of the proposed building under the DA approved in Aug-06 can not proceed.

The site is owned by Callie Malouf Investments and Investment Management Australia (Gordon Douglas).

Another Callie Malouf tower back from the dead---possibly.

There's a new DA over this site DA: A003179977 and it's by the same primary applicant as the last one. No docs up yet but considering that 549 Queen St is also back from the dead, I'm guessing this one will be for an extension as well. A bit annoyed about losing the two buildings on site, particularly the Clemenger BBDO building. Keeping the facade of that one would have been a nice touch! At least the tea warehouse Ecco Bistro is in on the corner is a protected building...

EDIT: Yep, as with 549 Queen St, it's a proposal asking that the approval be extended to 12th December 2015.

So maybe they are looking at proceeding on these two projects rather than just flogging off the site. I'm still a little annoyed at losing the Clemenger BBDO Building's facade (Federation era warehouse next to Ecco Bistro's building) Preferably I'd like to see it's facade and the Adcorp building's facade both retained, but at the very least the Clemenger facade.

At the risk of sounding like a nimby, I think the petrie bight area is so lifeless and dull already they really shouldn't demolish any old buildings in that block
