i'm sorry, but that bldg is totally unoriginal and hideous with that oversized spire. its placement in the skyline would totally destroy chicago's skyline. we've seen our share of tapering, twisting spire-shaped bldgs in recent years.

and besides, doesn't chicago have more than enough luxury condos? i was reading about this proposal on the NYT and that was the main concern about this project.

this one's a doosey, i'm afraid.

Yea, I agree with you sean. The design is abit odd looking when fitting in the chicago skyline. But, if built, it would be its first giant step into the post modern world, what do you think?

I'm as much a booster as anybody, but I think 30km is pushing things a bit. I always make sure never to overestimate or worse yet overexaggerate my claims so as to not have them bite me in the a**. From Cermak @ McComick Place to the border of Evanston is just under 15 miles which would be 24km. I know it's close and for all intents and purposes might as well be the same number.

But just so Bubai_Boy knows, what ChiSky says is true. It really does strech much farther than just where the downtown supertalls are, and it's about 24km.
