#394 (bottom): Remarkably small amount of litter. Well done Leeds.

No, the Bauman Lyons proposals are for a different viaduct - the one that runs through Holbeck.

The viaduct on the Latitude scheme, including the aforementioned bridge, is listed. Cleaning work to listed buildings requires listed buildings consent. Out of interest, there is an application in just now under the following description:

Quote:
Listed Building Application to carry out alterations, repairs and restoration to disused railway viaduct to form new public realm and links to adjoining proposed residential development
It's under 07/06133/LI and is to be determined (submitted in Oct 07). Was submitted by Crosby Homes - I'm guessing they are developing the resi element of the scheme?

I hope they don't scrub off too much of the character from this wonderful bridge though I guess we're going to have to say goodbye to the greenery, for the time being at least.

Not much change since my last post but I think at the back it's beginning to look quite moody in a way I rather like.

Think The cladding has mainly gone on the back as lot less light through the far side of the H block.

Had a good look at this as my train was pulling towards Leeds station. The cladding is great, and level of quality is a lot higher than most of the other buildings lining the riverside.

I saw it today from the train also, and can back up that statement completely.

Anyone know whats happening on with phase 2 and the building next door to this. Last time I passed a few weeks ago, there was some considerable activity on site?

You'l be pleased to know that, as I understand, the proposal is NOT to clean the stonework as part of the proposals for the viaduct and bridge.

Is any news of any more buildings coming on in this development it would just seem stupid by itself, even if the other buildings are low rise like this.

Yes; a number of buildings are to follow this. They will adopt a similar design to this too.

You're too kind

I agree with you about the quality of this building and I'm sure its companions will be of the same quality. In fact, I'd rather like the other office blocks to be built to the same design.

That cladding is stunning! It's refreshing to not have modern buildings either clad fully in glass with white strips everywhere or just covered in cheap grey plastic. This looks sleak and modern yet different from the usual bog standard we find in provincial cities. Can't wait for the next stage!

This is a very attractive building, has turned out much better than I thought it would. Similar cladding could be used on Merrion House is TCS would spend a little money on it.

Wow, I'm looking forward to seeing this cladding for real when I'm back in Leeds next, it looks great. Almost a cheeky nod to Mies van der Rohe's International style.

I agree this is a very 'upper class' looking building, i think if all the future buildings are to be built at the same standard as this one we will have one Phenominal city
