The GOI should really do something about beautification of the banks of rivers that flow through the cities. Cleaning up the filthy rivers is all together a different ball game.

Majesty Cine Mall, K.K.Nagar

I think this mall cum cinema as its name suggests could be on the site where Sundaram theater(near Apollo hospital) was previously. This picture was taken 5 months back when the mall was getting ready to open.

Thanks Madurai Veeran and Madurai Fanatic. Unfortunately, I don't have a close up shot of the terminal. I couldn't find the RR township area but heard that all the activities are going to be on the proposed 4 lane bypass as part of the Madurai-Tuticorin 4 laning which is going to skip the current stretch going closer to the Airport.

Madurai Airport terminal needs vast improvement in a quick time. There are many flights than the 2 or 3 we had some time ago. Even if one flight is delayed, there would be commotion in the airport or people have to wait outside the building.

Vaigai River at night

Nice to see the well lit roads along the river banks. These roads were actually built removing numerous encroachments to reduce the traffic along other important roads. These roads could be further developed in the lines of the roads along koovam in Chennai.

Are these roads being maintained properly now. Many years back i had travelled on the road between Anna nagar bridge and Kuruvekaran bridge and further. But at that time there wasn't adequate lighting.

Can someone tell if the road runs to the full extent on both sides of the bank. I feel that lorries should be prohibited from parking on these roads. They hinder the traffic and also dissuade people from using the road.

P.S : Please excuse me if its the road to sellur, which is also on the banks of the river but was not actually developed part of the above mentioned project.

The above pic and post 129 seem to be the same, except for the time they were shot. The other one gives a clear picture of the location. This must be the bank along the southern side(old part) of the city.
