great site that liverpools pubs are the best outside of london shame theirs so many closed especially the grand central one.

I've been looking for years for a pic of Alan Rudkin when he was manager of the Vines. Not only have I found one thanks to Zod's link, it's also one of him in the pub AND with the Lonsdale Belt!

Try doing a tour of the roughest pubs around, that'd be an adventure. The Farmers Arms in Norris Green and the Bow & Arrow in West Derby are classic examples.

Surprisingly i've never ever had a pint anywhere in Canny Farm, but i do drive through Canny Farm every day on my way home from work..... i noticed one of the pubs has been demolished after it was torched about 8 times in a week!!

I see the (in)famous Barley Mow has finally got a new landlord.

I read an article in the Echo on Wednesday I think about a couple who went into the Lisbon. The bar manager saw them kissing and asked them to leave as it was a gay bar and didn't want 'Their type in here'. That worries me, as a straight man, I have been in there numerous times being the liberal I am and the manager hasn't asked me to leave. Maybe it's my sharp haircut and well fitting clothes that throws up a smokescreen.

Ah, that will be it. Best go for a pair of slacks and a polo shirt next time. Most gay folk in there are quite scruffy. Just like in the Masquerade too.

It was the silver-tipped cane, purple fedora and feather boa that did it Zod.

Thought I saw you in there Awayo ! Were you the guy with the lime green PVC tank top on or the fella in a targa suit who goes by the name of 'Tangy Trev' ?

Its off "Brass Eye", there was a blag documentary about a colonel in the navy who made all his crew wear jockstraps, when they interviewed his superior played by Chris Morris he described the colonel in this manner, a completely random quote I know.
