CHICAGO | 156 West Superior | 9 fl | Com

I apologize in advance if there is another thread on this building. I looked around and didn't see one.

156 W. Superior - Under construction

Visit http://www.156westsuperior.com for more info. There's some cool animation that shows off the building well.

^It looks like a bunch of prison cells stacked on top of one another. A bit too bear bones for my taste. It is a shocking departure from the other new structures in River North though so I can at least respect the relative creativity of Miller and Hull.

I really like the rendering. Very European looking and I think it will go very well in River North.

Hello 21st Century!! The ectoskeletal design preserves that kinetic feel; something that vanishes after a structure's cladding. Both structures scream TODAY! Thanks for the leads.

I also LOVE the Staybridge Suites property. I REALLY hope that gets built. Valerio Dewalt Train is amazing.

I think it's really sweet new modernism. Also on that block is a mid-rise going in on the corner of LaSalle(?). Sandwiched in between 156 and the midrise is a lone, holdout, ivy-covered graystone. It's going to be something to see when the construction is finished on both sides.

^Yeah, I believe the building going on up on the corner is The Superior at LaSalle, which is moving along nicely.

I thought that project was called 700 N. LaSalle? At any rate - I really like 156... Staybridge is another story.

There are two buildings being built right next to each other. Here are their pictures today:

I think both of these developments are stellar. From all appearances, 150 West Superior will be beautiful.

156 W. will be really nice, but, I find Superior on LaSalle to be a repeat of everything else that has been built on Huron and Superior west of State in the past few years. They're all great looking structures in and of themselves, but, there's a bit too much of the same style floating around the very small area.

I agree. I think 156 W. Superior's design is a refreshing change from the status quo in the River North area.

Worth every penny. It's one of the most aesthetically pleasing condo buildings in Chicago.
