They should have all the windows in by the time we elect our next president.

Or at least by the time Waterview is visible from street-level!

Thanks Retro. This tower has grown on me tremendously. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is finished and the protective film is finally removed.

Yeah, I wonder if the supply of windows is coming in very slowly. From the looks of Retro's pics, they only finished the glass on one floor in the last 10 days. At this rate, it will be 180 days before the glass is finished. That's ok though, from the looks of it, this is shaping up to be one hell of a building.

For some reason I think this building would work better if the protective film wasn't removed....so it looked more like an opaque panel standing in contrast to the vision glass located at the units....but I could be wrong.

Though it does remind me of this new project Hertzog & De Meuron are doing in New York that is using STRUCTURAL glass....

I can see the difference in the glass quality. Look at the 4th floor on the front and the cheap glass appears all wavey and distorted, while adjacent panels appear good.

Makes me wonder if they'll replace all the glazing they've already installed. The difference is pretty stark.

what an irony. for years we had to be concerned about disasters on the northeast and southwest corners of State and Randolph only to have those solved and be stuck with a disaster on the southeast corner!

Well, rumor has it we won't be dealing with that disaster much longer. I'd be surprised if Macy's makes it 'til Xmas 08.

Well, I don't think anything we'll recognize is going back on the door. It's just simply not going to be a department store anymore .

I miss "Marshall Fields's" too but the problem is that it hasn't made a profit in 10 years. However, not too many department stores are doing good.
