They have removed the protective coating from the glass on the second floor. I'm surprised at how good it looks--very clear. I think this building is going to have a nice open and transparent presence at street-level.

They have really worked around the clock to get the retail space ready for this month's launch. They've taken down the scaffolding, clearing up the logjam on State and Randolph. The ground floor looks great . . . I cannot believe Chicago received this after dealing with that crappy Walgreens for so long. We're a bunch of lucky S.O.B.s

Well, Loehmann's is open. The store is pulling in a crazy amount of street traffic (which makes sense since it's the grand opening and all). They've done a simply fabulous job on this building. Riding the escalator up to the second floor, looking out over State Street, Block 37, towards the Daley Center . . . it's enough to give a Chicagophile chills.

^ Wow, I can't wait to see that.

Who knows when, though...

Doesn't quite have the clarity of Retrograde's shots, does it? I was kinda rushed when I took the required shots for the pano, so some of them came out a tad blurry.

I think the paper along the lowest row of windows was temporary, while construction work went on inside.

Some shots from last weekend. I might head over there tonight to get a few more and see what kind of finishing touches they've added at street level.

Does anyone know what is going to be hung off these poles that jut out from the lower floors. I have always assumed that they were for signage or lighting. Are there any renderings of what's going there?

It's a pity we didn't get that version.

Anyone know what the layout for the 3rd and 4th floors is like? Will it be possible to see the dancers perform from the street or nearby buildings?

There's already a Loehmann's banner. I'm sure there will be at least one Joffrey banner, likely more.

There are now Loehmann's banners all along the west facade (maybe five or six of them?). The corner is still sans-signage though - as we await the Joffrey installation.

The construction crane is for theWit Hotel.

The building with scaffolding behind the L station is the Page Brothers Building, a Chicago Landmark that is getting a facade cleaning.

Any word on what's scheduled to move into the Page Brother's Building? I know this is off-topic, but it's right next door.

The old OTB building? I wondering the same thing myself. There's scaffolding up on the north side of the building.
