Now that she's almost fully clad, MoMo's looking sharp IMHO. 16 Feb '08.

North on State:

South on State - the whole enchilada:

Does anyone know why they put the Loehmann's banners in the wash and shrunk them!? I mean, it's not like the old ones were great (they were a bit overpowering), but, these new ones look absolutely ridiculous!

I think the banners are more streamlined and compliment the contemporary look of MoMo.

I didn't notice how much smaller they've gotten (taken back in December):

I wish I could agree. I think they look cheap and undersized . They stand out much more now than they did before, if you ask me.

Oooh, bobalob. We are so in agreement tonight.

<-- makes that gesture where I point at my eyes and then at bobalob's. You know, the DeNiro "I'm watching you" thing.

Has anyone seen the new giant Joffrey Ballet sign hanging on the corner of MoMo at State and Randolph? I saw it yesterday, briefly, maybe I'm exaggerating but it seemed as large as the Chicago Theater sign. It wasn't lit, but it looked like it will light up.

The Joffrey Ballet sign is pretty cool. I think it draws the eye upward. It really is a nice touch to MoMo. Assertive, but not gaudy. The building now commands the corner of Lake Randolph and State Street. Impressive, given its competition.

I think yesterday was the first night they had the lights on - the text is white while the edges of the sign are blue. Because the sign is angled it doesn't really interfere with the Chicago Theater marquee when viewed from State Street. Overall I like it and think it adds another point of interest to the street.
