In the early 20th century, Place de l'Opéra in Paris had a similar function in the city than Times Square still has in NYC. It was a very vibrant square, with horse carriage trafic jams and advertisements everywhere. However, ads have been later regulated : only white letters allowed, restricted size. In the past, Citroën even put a giant 300m ad on the Eiffel Tower! This could never happen now anymore. |

Well, what is sure is that La Défense is by far the most dense skyline in Europe. There's no highrise cluster with so many buildings in such a small area elsewhere in the EU.
Afterwards, we can question the overall quality of buildings and the urban fabric of the district, but it's a work in progress and recent additions are following the right direction. |

This being said, Paseo de la Reforma is also a lot greener than La Défense. It wouldn't harm the Parisian district if more greeneries were added, especially on the central esplanade. |

Anyway, why do London and Paris have 2 threads? Please change that.

What a bashing isn't it? It's obvious that La Défense is far to be perfect, but that's a bit exagerated. Obviously in this forum there's a little war between Paris and London if I've understood it well. I've just took a glance on the London City thread and it has collected only 28 "3 or less" votes. So obviously, the famous British "fair play" is really something that is to be applied only by foreigners.

Many cities have different skylines around the city. I mean Paris and London has nothing remarkable (skyline) that it needs 2 threads. Paris for example have a skyscraper skyline in La defense but the rest of the city is flat. London has a little cluster in Chanary Wharf and in the city it has 3 skyscrapers and 4 highrises.

And for the record, London has a excellent skyline for European standards. And quantity isn't everything, a lot of cities are full of skyscrapers and yet very ugly. And the rest of Paris isn't flat. Although the general quality of the towers (mostly built in the 60s and 70s) is debatable, Paris isn't flat. Please look at the panorama below: Scroll >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I am not from Thailand or Indonesia, but their cities blow Paris and London away by miles (skyline/skyscrapers), so it is rather odd that you mention those countries, would be more wise if you said Norway or Finland. |

If you don't like London or Paris threads, do not visit there, no one is begging you to come here to talk shit. As far as i know this is not the first time that you bash on these cities, you always come here and talk nonsense, don't come how simple is that, besides i don't think it is your concern to criticise whether they open 5 threads or 10 threads for one city. Forum moderator will decide :spam: |

I never bashed Paris, I always said that it has the best skyline in europe, still it doesn't need 2 threads to rate its skyline.
