oh well....this means china doesnt really care about "want to be powerful...pride" or some shyt that brainwashed ppl prob think.....they just wanna be themselves no matter whether their buidings are changed from stunning to ugly or not...and they prob know it....too bad japanese have to piss china off....

I still like the design though personally I think the original design looks better, more elegant. There's some info about the project at Mori Building co website.

The square hole isn't too bad. Perhaps this will simplify construction. I'm not a civil engineer, but then drawing a square is easier than drawing a circle for me

I thought this was a joke at first.

A bad, bad, move. The new design dramatically messes with the appeal of the building.

The circle worked. The square does not. It is change for change's sake and an architectural sell out. Looks real bad for 3/4th side on views in particular.

Nice way for Shanghai to blow it's own feet off. No way this building can compete with the Burj Dubai on any level now IMO.

I wouldn't think it'd be possible. The force of the wind on the large surface area that would created by doing that would be immense. The buildings whole design would have to be changed to make it stable. If it was possible to make it safe at all.
