Actually, in the Polish forum they are saying that as a result of the reconstruction of the old terminal both terminals will be combined into one. This will increase the total capacity of the new single terminal to 24 000 000 .

Any chance someone can post some pics of the new terminal at Warsaw taking shape as well as the beautiful Hotel in front of the terminal?

Here is a link to the airport's Facebook profile. Some nice pics of the latest changes taking place at Warsaw's Terminal A :

Also worth mentioning, the longer runway has been closed for reconstruction. Along with the resurfacing, modernization of the drainage system etc. there will be new taxiways, de-icing facility and rapid exit points built.

This is all in attempt to increase the airports hourly aircraft movement capacity.

Quick question.

I have been reading that LOT Polish airlines is in trouble and the government wants to sell it off. I think Noway might be interested. Anyways, if this happens, does it mean that LOT will not exist as a brand? Would we still see the LOT logo and colors on the plane? I don't know how these issues are handled.
I know Hungary's airline went under.

I don't think it is going to happen, at least soon. There is no serious buyer willing to buy LOT at the moment. Instead, LOT asked Polish Government for another financial aid. There is a new management in LOT trying to make that company profitable by cutting costs (less routes, less employees, better network of flights, more flexibility, smaller planes etc, etc...)

Actually these are necessary for LOT in order to stand up to the competition on long - haul flights across Atlantic to New York, Chicago and Toronto. Old B 767 planes needed to by replaced anyway, so why not by much less fuel consuming Dreamliners.

Agree with you I take LOT was in far better shape at the time of the order?

Emirates Airlines announced putting in service on Dubai - Warsaw line bigger planes. From the beginning of 2014 Airbuses A330-200 will be replaced by much bigger Boeings 777-300.

Does this have anything to do with runway resurfacing that will be going on later on in 2014 at DXB? Or will the plane be gone once the runway resurfacing is done and Emirates gets back to normal operations.

Not sure what is your question. How runway resurfacing has anything to do with bigger planes on Warsaw - Dubai line? It was decision of Emirates Airlines due to popularity of that connection.
