Nice airport but not unique. Most modern airports look the same these days with a "T-shape" design, a wall of glass metal and concrete.

The airplane bridges from this project are really nice..I have to say that this is a pretty nice project and a definite improvement over the former terminal buildings!
Thanks for the pics. p5 |

There are rumors, that the terminal will not be able to serve that six milions, becouse it is wrongly designed. I read about this in polish portal pasazer.com, if I remember correctly. But I think it will serve this six milions pax, even more. The question is, how comfortably pax will feel there. So I would be careful about calling it world class terminal. Lets wait for first pax been served there.

I expext that for several years, when new intl airprt for Warsaw will be bulit the T1 will be demoliished, and only T2 will remain to serve as "local" small airport, similar to London Stansted.

At FC Airport is there any more space for 2nd terminal, ( I mean second what is being built in my opinion is new terminal 1, old terminal was knocked down and new expanded terminal is being built on top of it, with only entrance from old airport remaining which is not bad at all)...
Is there any empty land on present airport where new terminal can be constructed say in next 7-8 years, if you wonder why I ask, I think present terminal (being constructed will reach its capacity in 2015)...

It will reach its nominal capacity (T1+T2=10mln pax) sooner than 2010.
Now with only two working jetways T1 will serve 7.3 million, more than designed capacity of T2 which is 6.5 mln. I don't have any idea regarding place for T3, but T3 would need third runway. What I think they will do, is running T1+T2 and existing runway and taxiways layout to its absolute limits, which I estimate to be somewhere arround 12-15 millions pax annually. If I have to guess, it will be reached in 2012. In 2015 they will need to have new airport ready, and under condition, that they will take the lowcost carriers traffic out of WAW to Modlin airport before. Greets |
