Have they taken the A380 into account with these NEW bays? Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like the bays have been designed to add a second or third air-bridge to accomadate the A380 if in the future there is demand?

U R wrong, EK413
These bays are not to attach another gateway, it is a walkway for arriving pax so they are separated from the departing trafic. When they get out from the plane, they use this bay to get to the higher level in the terminal pier and they walk above the airside departure lounge to the escalator that takes them 2 levels down to the arrival level.

I haven't checked the updates on the Chopin Airport for quite some time now...looks really good. I like the look of the accent reds throughout the airport- and on the airport bridges...Should be a great airport once its completed...

honestly there is nothing to congratulate IMHO how the construction, design of the terminal was done it is a big scandal( I am not an expert but I read newspapers and travel a lot via Warsaw) . After over 4 years of building terminal consortium of Budimex (owned by Ferovial) and Estudio lamela showed how extension of terminals should not be build.

The badly managed development of the terminal and bad design caused

1. Warsaw lost its chances of becoming true hub for Central Eastern Europe.

2. LOT Polish airline has lost its position on transfer traffic in CEE.

3. Not to mention business people or our international guest suffering during reconstruction.

Besides that meantime Ferovial owner of Budimex has violate many of the corporate governance on Warsaw Stock Exchange showing total lack of respect for customers, investors.

4th year of construction and still another delays and another disappointments on design and functionalities of new terminal are coming out.

If this is the style how Spanish companies are working? - good example maybe some Spanish press should get interested how picture of Spanish business is build in Eastern Europe - we have much more construction development to be done but with such flagship project so badly done

After all the delays they are planning to open the second terminal in the month of June, but without all the commercial services that will appear a few weeks after the opening.
