Land securities interim results released today made no mention of a phased opening as hinted at previously. The date is now just given as 2011.

Jeremy Vine mentioned his Radio 2 show would be coming Live from Leeds tomorrow and discussing the issue of new shopping centres being built and the effect they have, using the Trinity Quarter as their prime example. Could throw up some interesting comments.

Work has begun on the new Wilkinson's store beneath the existing one on Albion Street (in what used to be George and the Leeds Utd Store) The entrance will be where the old entrance to George was. The move to the store below will allow work to commence on the Trinity Quarter entrance from Albion Street.

This bit's not shown on the webcam. Couldn't get near enough to see the bottom of the hole though.

thanks for the updates. Good to see. Still looks a relatively small site, I thought they were taking more of the buildings backing on to Albion Street, but clearly not.

http://democracy.leeds.gov.uk/Publis.../0805500FU.pdf This is the building north of the link bridge containing Cex Mk1 and another shop. It is currently offices above but they are planning to replace this block with 3 storeys of retail space backing onto the upgraded bank street. Trinity West proposals are also making progress. News of few tweaks here http://democracy.leeds.gov.uk/Publis...APP0800322.pdf Should be in for planning soon. Looking at the webcam and EC's photo it seems the demo is really moving on quickly now and construction is set to step up a gear. |

There was a long line of concrete mixing trucks lined up on Boar Lane earlier waiting to deliver to site.
Also noticed a fair chunk of the Briggate frontage is now done and I expect it will be gone in the next week or so. |

That's good, the substructure will be well on it's way to being formed now. The rebar mesh work is clearly visible around the base of the tower crane on the photo above.

I'm sure I feel less anxious in my life at the moment because the Briggate facade has finally come down (I've had a couple of dreams about this development - tragic). The Light really transformed the Headrow, and I'm sure this will do the same for Briggate.

Some more from Cabot Circus. If the Briggate frontage looks like that I'd have few complaints.
