Its all terribly bland but impressive in its scale. The curved centerpiece towers are nice though.

This project will play a major role in Dubai's skyline, but it sucks big time though as flo said earlier apart from those two towers all the other towers look out of space.

Ok, if you want to see it all, those pics below will do just that. I personally believe they are the best pics of this development by far and give you a much better impression of the area. Those are courtesy of eat static. Enjoy .

Hmm... I admire the ambition but in terms of design I don't think it's as nice as the other Dubai projects... Looks really 90s...

namely... since it's beach front, why so much concrete and all the tiny windows?

this pic is really stunning.

the layout is pretty clever, providing views for most of the apts.

and indeed it looks better day by day, they add the 2nd colour and the details.

Global players sign to The Walk

Staff Report

Dubai: Waterfront real estate development Jumeirah Beach Residence has signed 300 agreements to lease prime retail space at The Walk, a 1.75-kilometre boulevard of beachfront outdoor shopping.

Leading franchisers representing global brands will be have a presence, the project's developer Dubai Properties said. Jumeirah Beach Residence is expected to have 20,000 residents.

"The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence is our first retail project and will be Dubai's only outdoor shopping destination by the beach. It offers a unique dining and shopping experience," said Hashim Al Dabal, chief executive officer of Dubai Properties.

The Walk has appointed Aswaq Management & Services LLC as the retail property consultant for the project during design, construction and pre-opening phases. The retail outlets will open in the first quarter of 2007.

"Over the next five years more than 81.1 million square feet of retail floor space is expected to be completed throughout the GCC. Dubai Properties through projects like The Walk will play an important part in this growth, not only because of its unique concept, but also through the presence of renowned international brands," Al Dabal said.

Divided into two main levels comprising Grade Level and Plaza Level, The Walk will have over 350 shops and 75 restaurants, located across the development.
