i think we have to wait how the towers turn out in the end

but i agree on one things, why do all towers have the same architectural theme?
looks like mass production which makes it look a bit out of place in the dubai marina

I think the first pic is up to date, we'll have to wait maybe a couple of days to see new pics.

I'm sorry I really don't understand something...

Are there really such demand for so many residential buildings? I mean, are they really selling a high % of completed condos and are they expensive enough for them to make a profit??

I just thought usually with so many condos being completed and supplied to the market the price would plummet :-/

But in any case if I get rich one day I'm so buying a vacation condo in Dubai! :-D

The towers look alike, but their overall view from the beach will be IMPRESSIVE.

I just thought of something there. The prices right now are increasing by a huge amount and they'll get really expensive by then. Once the prices drop, wouldn't a lot of people move in then because of cheap prices, so you probably won't have to get that rich to buy one.
So maybe we won't see a load of empty towers after all.

Of course it's probably not as simple as this though.

"Nationality of the construction workers is not an issue here"

Their treatment should be though.

Let's see some pictures of the hidden away work camps

Hidden away??, the workers issue is pretty transparent in Dubai... everyone see's their maltreatment and i believe its an issue that has been raised by the Human Rights Watch group of the mid east. not too sure though.

This is very amazing. Just amazing to see such development nearby. I had a friend who visited the site, his jaw dropped !!

As for those saying that the workers are from india or pakistan and its to them we should credit the success of dubai. then by your logic, if 50% of a country is populated by pakistainise and indians it will be as succesful as Dubai. Funny coz india is 100% indian and pakistan is 100% pakistani, but I dont see any close to what dubai has.
Get real and stop being so sour !

it is INSANE!!!! give me more time to digest the fact that dubai is rising that fast. In the meantime, i might criticize Dubai for showing off because it is just INSANE!!!

Yes the treatment of the workers is an issue but you have to remember that the abuses you hear of (ie: workers not getting paid for months, etc....) aren't done widespread. It's probably just a few small companies who break the law.
Just in case you didn't know last month a new law was introduced that banned workers from working between 12.30 and 4.30 in the afternoon in the months of July and August. This is for the people who say the UAE government treats its workers worse than cattle.
