Most average vacationers dont go to look at the buildings they come for the really nice weather in Dubai.

Thanks Imre!

Im really starting to like JBR more and more, how the facade blends in with the beach, its sort of a desertstyledesign. I for one think it looks good, monotone, but good. There is plenty of buildings for other tastes in design, and this is a nice variation (this must be the first time the word variation and JBR occurs in the same sentence).

The ensemble of the buildings carry a clear resemblance to the city of Shebam in Yemen (the first skyscrapers in the world, as they are called). I do not know if the architects consciously inspired their design from that historic location.

I know this project has been compared to the massive Honmg Kong Commie blocks ( now dont all over react, its a joke), but these seem to have the edge , maybe not in height but in ashetics and the fact that they are resorty with a beach, massive public spaces and places, good retail etc.
They seem more human that possibly the Honkers towers

it's as if they're building a city... how many people will be able to live there when completed?

Nice colors Quite monotone but it doesnt look boring at all. Its so great when there is so much high towers so close together. A definition for skycity

Yes they are ultra-monolithic and pretty bland and repetitive. But I do find this strange beauty in them for some reason
