They actually turned out better than I thought they would. There's just enough detailing with the cornices that it breaks up an otherwise boring painted concrete box. And the podium is shaping up nicely. I like the ground floor retail. Looks very nice.

yea, if it wasn't for the intricate detail, these buildings could be said to be commie-blocks! Love the fine work put into these magnificent structures

Still they would have been way more eye-candy if they didn't cut corners and removed the red tiled roofs and sky garden terraces, as per the initial design.

This is one of my favorite projects in Dubai actually, it's a massive area of many high-rises... what a beast for construction. Wish I could live there...

All building shoud have some design for better look. 20 buildings with the same design and color is very boring.May be the owner of this project just like this painting color.

I'm litter bit disapointed to see they look all the same.

Just that the apartments are twice in size compared to those Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore scrapers or most of European ones, oh and unlike any of them; a beach downstairs too

Plain design: YES, Commieblock/Council flats: NO WAY

At present reminds of Rio De Janeiro's famous beachside areas. Very similar. Great beach but little imagination in terms of the high rise buildings that line it.

Not sold out

They are not sold out. Walk into JBR's sales offices, talk to a salesman and they always have "only one or two" non-beach facing apartments for sale. But, of course, only one initially but if you push them they just might "have one more over on this block over here" but never more than two (for sale). Perhaps they are re-sales but JBR sales office doesn't call them re-sales.

He said that beach side apartments are not available. You are saying NO to him, adding that NON-beach side apartments are available. Isn't that the same thing you're both are saying?

What I mean is that if you keep pushing you will eventually get to the Beach view sales (usually partial views). They play the rarity value game big time.

Keep calling back in - they do have them although I don't know where they come from - whether re-sold to them by speculators or direct from their reserves - and nearly always more costly than the re-sales from Real Estate Brokers - although the real estate brokers seem to put the prices up when you express too much interest claiming the seller has "just" put the price up - perhaps true as the sellers (who often bought several apartments) seem in no hurry to sell and enjoy the cat and mouse game.

And then there is the issue of whether you can actually transfer ownership in the coming few months as, due to Land Registration issues there is (I'm told) a freeze on ownership transfers at present.
