do you think the mighty Q and Surfers paradise will emulate a NYC skyline in years to come?
i think with the giant towers of Circle and Soul coming up and Meritons 300m tower it should start to create a big city feel.
Q1 is now 3.5m higher then Chrylser bldg. amazing!

The cranes are Circle, so this exact shot in 12 months with coc complete would be awesome.

Love the lighting - it looks very New Yorkish.

Looks fantastic.
Similar to the lighting scheme on 120 Collins:

Wouldn't the lighting be really annoying for the people living in the upper level apartments. I know staying at Crown that you can really notice the outside building lighting inside the rooms which is fine when you are staying in a hotel room but if I had to live there it would get annoying after a while.

could save you some $$ on you own power bill and then just close the blinds when you want 8)

I'd be more pissed about all the insects it attracts + birds = bird shit everywhere.

LOL - Birds don't fly at night - try bats instead. There is a tower in Sydney with the top lit and always has Bats flying around it at night, can't remember the name?

If I remember correctly they don't use the lights on top of GPT very often anymore because of the mess gulls make. I think they were roosting on the roof???

A lot of birds choose the warmth, light & safety of the city to roost at night and anywhere they sleep will be covered in crap pretty soon.

Wow. Probably the best crown lit in Oz, perfectly suits it's surroundings.

They do in Melbourne - around the arts centre spire and bolte bridge (probably to two strongest lit structures in the city) you will see hundreds of seagulls going round in endless circles- must be a religious thing
