Melbourne's office buildings really stay well lit at night. You can see all of the lights on inside the building. Here in San Diego the lights inside commercial buildings are maybe 1/3 to 40% lit up at night. I love how Melbourne just says f*ck it and waists electricity.

Are you kidding, I'm sure the Japanese work longer hours then Australians. I don't think Oz is really known for its work ethic. I thought people there liked to enjoy life and go do activities instead of working extra long hours. I've heard many times that to many Japanese life is all about work and 60 to 70 hour work weeks are normal.

I always thought that Scandinavian countries were the highest taxing in the developed world. Go check statistics on Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. They are all about "cradle to the grave social protection". I think you might be getting Oz mixed up. What about all of the people on the dol (spelling) there? I'll have to google this stuff and see if you are bullshiting me mate!

Holy shit you are right Crystal Spring. Some articles put Australia at number 1 some at number 2. Damn, I thought Oz was a paradise where people were laid back, happy, and stress free. Looks like Australia needs to turn itself around a bit. Not bueno essay

lol "mate" i love news, and watch it everyday, and there's always talk of tax, and just few days back the reporter said the highest taxing country.
Download this http://www.budget.gov.au/2005-06/ove...d/overview.pdf it is this years budget in a nice interesting form, i read it all and found it all very interesting. here's the taxing brackets from that document, than you tell me which is higher, tell me usa's too.

![]() Well my dad is a corporate manager for IBM Australia based out of Melbourne and he works over 60 hours a week...as do the rest of his team. I am a student(Fulltime) and work over 25 hours a week as a waiter, as do the rest of my friends...and when summer holidays comes around, many foriegners assume Australians are bumming on the beach, unfortunately this isnt true, we are working out asses off to make money..so I would increase my 25 hour week to over 40 hours a week just for extra cash. This is what the majority of Australians do..work work and work some more. |
