Which would effectively discourage effectively what is half of the city from visiting it's downtown, which wouldn't exactly help Liverpool's economic situation.

And people here want Liverpool to rival Manchester?

The Wirral is not part of Liverpool so cannot be 'half of the city'.

Unless they were born in Liverpool.

If they were born in Bootle and Huyton, the places where they grew up, then they are not.

And you accept that Leeds is larger than Liverpool and that Liverpool is larger than London?

Hey, that means that I'm a Scouser (born Fazackerley hospital) and Stevie Gerrard (Whiston hosp.) is a haystack worrying wool.

Yes.

To make matter even more cloudy, I think I am correct in saying Gerrard played for Liverpool Schoolboys even though he lived in Knowsley.

It does because to play for Liverpool Schoolboys you need to go to a school within the city boundary.

Yet he lived in Knowsley. So Knowsley's proximity means that he could go to a scool in Liverpool and thus play for Liverpool Schoolboys. That helps your 'completely separate places' argument, how?

If he went to school in Huyton he would of played for Huyton Schoolboys but because he went to school within the City of Liverpool boundary he played for Liverpool Schoolboys.

Have you ever tried telling someone from Huyton or Krkby they're not Scousers?

While schools football is being talked of can we wish the all-conquering u15's team from St Margarets CofE High School best wishes today in the English Schools FA u15 Final being played at West Broms ground (ko4pm).

They are playing a school from Cambridgeshire.

Again, how does this help your arguement?

Actually forget it, I've got to go out now. We can go around forever with this stupid issue.

Ever tried telling those from Birkenhead, West Kirkby, Formby and Southport they are Scousers?

If you insist. So Liverpool's entire existence is set out by the boundary committee and they could remove Liverpool from the map tomorrow and we'd cease to exist as a city. Whatever matey.

I'm definately off out now. Laters!

Being at uni in sheffield....i'm always being told i'm a scouser and i'm form the wirral. Can't say i kick up a fuss, and neither do most of the people i know, most are proud to be from Merseyside. So i disagree with most comments, just an outdated stereotype in my opinion
