NEW YORK CITY-Two financings--a $120-million construction loan and a $47-million mezzanine loan--close on Continental Properties and Douglaston Development’s 250-unit, 390,000-sf residential condominium at 325 Fifth Ave. The project, which is anticipated to cost in the neighborhood of $190 million, is expected to be completed some time in early 2006.

The 50-story tower in the shadow of the Empire State Building is near of a number of Manhattan's prominent neighborhoods: Chelsea, Gramercy and the Flatiron District.

At least it's glass, and will usher in new glass towers in a sea of old, but beautiful brick, and it will probably be a nice looking tower, but come on, it doesn't deserve a thread in these forums. World forums are for big projects and little ones like this shouldn't clutter it up.

2-3 story buildings that looked like they were falling apart. This is a significant improvement, even if the tower is mediocre.

It's funny, on the rendering I count 42 floors, yet it's being marketed as 50. Seems as if 471 feet is too short for 50 floors, especially with the curved thing on top. I dunno what's going on.
