Beijing and Hong Kong have it. HK installed it more than 3-4yrs ago.

Heres the video of the Hong Kong MTR advertisement. The animation comes out near the end of the clip, check it out:

In the late 1960s, Mickey Mouse used to wave at passengers from the tunnel wall between Guy and Atwater stations here -- a series of pictures and the whooshing train yielded the animation.

Cheers,
Chris

Oh really? I have never seen one before. It's an interesting concept though.

In Oslo underground we have tunnel advertising. It`s actually a closed-down station between Majorstuen and Nationalteateret. It`s been used for advertising.

The trains usually goes a bit slower before entering Majorstuen station, which makes people be able to see the huge advertising which is on each of the closed platforms.

The reason for Valkyrie station to be closed, is that its too close to Majorstuen station and also its only built for 2 wagons.

Valkyrie station is no more, so with Volvat. They both were used by 2 wagon overhead system. Now there are 2, 3, 4 and 6 wagons going thru the main tunnel.

Valkyrie station got advertising while Volvat is just closed down. I will try to take a picture of it, but its hard ;=)

Ad condeming public transit will appear on the back of a city bus

http://www.mlive.com/news/grpress/in...870.xml&coll=6

Quote:
The opposition group contends the transit system is costing taxpayers too much money and that its buses pollute the air.
Only in America will you find people who are not only against a $56/year tax increase to greatly improve public transit, but believe running thousands of extra cars will create less pollution than new hybrid buses.

I guess these inbred hicks believe if you just ignore transit users, it will just go away... just like global warming

BS.

People probably pay more than $56 in gas + tax if they drive the same route as the bus everyday year round.

Well, this is an ad in Vancouver, Canada, so anti-transit ads are not indigeneous in the USA. You can clearly see the Vancouver 2010 Olympics logo at the lower left (plus the ad most likely uses a Vancouver transit bus).

Well, your post was not really relevant to the topic (what does the fact that our government isn't as environmentally friendly as it should be, yet is about 100 times more environmentally friendly than yours), and it seems to me at least it was aimed to garner a negative response. Hence, a classic troll post.

And a few thing our government has done in the past year is approve the funding for a subway extension and tax rebates on transit passes, also proving your post makes no sense.

As for the article, no suprise. Look where it's from...Grand Rapids, Michigan, a mid-sized American city where the car is obviously king. Sad to say, but for a large proportion of people in many cities there really isn't much popularity in taking the bus.

Tell me about it, they should use one of Toronto's TTC buses. I can't go a single day on the system without seeing some homeless guy or complete nutjob.
