I've said it before, and I'll say it again; London will be amazing by 2012!

This is actually a photo of a render at the Bishopsgate (DIFA Tower) Exhibition held in the building currently occupying the site in June 2005. Its due to be vacated end 2006, so hopefully by mid 2007, we'll be seeing something tangible.

Similarly this is one of the wooden city models which attempt to show the impacts of LBT, Bishopsgate and 122 Leadenhall. The Foxmeister is correct. London 2012 could be something special.

Stunning... just stunning.

And that first pic doesn't even include Minerva (247m including spire) which would stand on the right of the cluster, and 51 Lime Street (125m) near Lloyds... then across the river on the opposite side, you have LBT (306m). It really is beautiful.

London will have the most improved skyline of any major city in the world.

I think Minerva is in the wrong place on that second model.

if so, then its marginal. but at the moment, so is the chance of it being built. I think the first image shows two of the most likely towers to go ahead - Heron and 122 Leadenhall. Now on their own, it looks abit strange, but as Britannia said before he left the boards, Bishopsgate has been designed clearly to relate to Tower 42 and 122 Leadenhall Street. The way the sloping bit of the 'helter skelter' corresponds to the tops of both these towers is fantastic. If the height of Bishopsgate is lowered due to City Airport, it will ruin this aesthetic.

I've got more shots of the Bishopsgate exhibition, but don't think this thread is the most relevant, primarily as it focuses on the London skyline in its totality, and I've already posted them on the Bishopsgate thread on UK Skyscrapers. However, if you guys want them on here, let me know. I've another 4-5 from the exhibition which might add a little to what we can expect in 5 years time.

And this one is from the New London Architecture show at the Building Design Centre on Store Street in the West End, worth a glance if anyone is down there. Doesn't have Bishopsgate though. Woah, blurred, sorry. That's awful, will get a better one next time I visit.

I love the ways Europenas design towers, they always come up with a brilliant piece of work.

Everybody is talking about that London is booming at the moment. Is it just on this forum or are actually these projects often in the news in London/the UK? (newspapers and TV)

By 2012 London is going to be even more amazing ! Hopefully Ill be a permanent resident. I just need to win the lottery first.

All we need now is to knock down the shite north bank buildings by blackfriars and in front of St Pauls facing the river...pedestrianise partly at least parliament square and whitehall...yes

Seems as if another London cluster is due to grow

Early concept images have been released for the latest planned skyscrapers in London, a couple of glass ellipitical towers lip-stick shaped towers designed by Squire and Partners.
The site, which is owned by London & Regional Properties, sits on the strategically placed Vauxhall Cross island, literally over the road from the popular and under construction St Georges Wharf that has a skyscraper approved for the site. The developer has already gone to pains to reassure locals that these two towers are expected to be shorter than their potential 181 metre tall neighbour

There are a number of other plans for nearby sites including a single tower on Vauxhall Bondway and another twin tower project on Nine Elms Lane

I can't wait for bishopgate...it's my favorite, and will give London a very desirable exotic skyline in the future
