Crane spotter alert - 127 Creek St
They are going to put up 'one of Queenslands largest cranes' during Sunday according to an Email I received at work today:
Dear All, Over the last week you may noticed a lot of work being carried out within the building. This activity is due to new air-conditioning plant that we are installing before the return of our summer weather. This weekend is the big one. On Sunday morning, the 21st, we will be blocking off Creek St between Ann and Adelaide between the hours of 4.00am through to 8.00pm to erect one of Queenslands largest cranes. This is going to restrict access to the building as the crane takes up the whole street. It will take up to 5 hours to erect the crane and once this is done the lifting work will take about 6 hours. When complete the crane will have to be dismantled this again takes about 5 hours Access to the building is going to be monitored by Queensland traffic control. You will need some identification for them to let you through to the building. The traffic controller will have a list of all company names so he knows who to let through. Unfortunately the car park will not be able to be used at all on Sunday. I will also be around on Sunday and on XX if you have any problems please call Thank you for your co-operation during there works. Regards

What building is that??? About two years ago I saw the biggest portable crane I've ever seen in Creek Street. The street was closed off of course and the crane was putting something onto the roof of NAB house - which is pretty tall. Of course you know what my facial exression was like

They changed the name to Pipe Network house or something like that. Contains staff from the Network (rail) management and IT parts of Queensland Rail on 5 or 6 floors (its hard to keep track of who is who). The lifts used to be dodgy as anything with people getting caught in doors, doors opening half way between floors and lifts failing to come when you press the down button.
